The first phase of the highway "Tavrida" will open for traffic at night in December 31st, the press office of the Ministry of transport of the Republic of Crimea reported.
"The start of passenger and freight traffic on the first phase of the highway "Tavrida" — the stretch is 190 km from Kerch to Simferopol, will open on December 30th-31st.The traffic will be launched on two lanes of the highway, one in each direction," the report said.
The Ministry noted that the first phase of the highway "Tavrida" will operate speed limit up to 60 km/h. Besides, additional speed limits are provided at the highway exits of technological transport. After completion of construction and commissioning of the road in December 2020, the maximum speed along the entire length of the route from Kerch to Sevastopol will be 90 km/h.
Construction of the highway "Tavrida" is carried out simultaneously on the entire length of the highway. The first phase of construction is planned to be completed at the end of the current year, after that two lanes of the highway will be open for traffic on the section from Kerch to Simferopol. Traffic on all four lanes of the route to Sevastopol will open in December 2020. The highway "Tavrida" includes 123 engineering structures and 18 transport junctions. The general contractor of the construction is "VAD" Ltd., the cost of the project is 149.3 billion rubles.
