For discussion in the Bundestag it is planned to make a law revision on embargo on the vessels in Crimea. This is reported by members of the German Parliament from the party "Alternative for Germany" (AfD).
As noted by the Deputy of the Bundestag Committee on foreign Affairs Waldemar Herdt, such disembargo would significantly affect the improvement of trade with Russia.
"This restriction has affected not only Russia, but also Germany, it prevents the prosperity of both sides. This is extremely counterproductive," the politician said.
The Deputy of the regional Parliament of Berlin Gunnar Lindemann, in its turn, noted that before the embargo Mediterranean and Black sea cruises with the vessels to Yalta or Sevastopol were very popular among German holiday-makers.
"My party and I are very interested in improving economic relations between Germany and Russia at all levels," the politician assured. - Of course, this includes commercial transportation and the tourism industry. Crimea can once again become a successful tourist destination for German tourists," he said.
The Deputy stressed that he will visit the Yalta Economic Forum with colleagues from the Bundestag in April, in order to map out in detail the road map for the restoration of Maritime communication between Germany and the Crimea.
I consider that the embargo on the European, including German vessels in Crimea is unacceptable. At the European level, the "Alternative for Germany" will raise this issue in the EU Parliament in Brussels after the elections in May," he added.
Permanent Representative of the Republic of Crimea under the President of the Russian Federation Georgy Muradov also added that Crimea has still retained a number of international freightage. Mainly with countries that have not joined the Western sanctions. According to the politician, shipowners from these countries understand all the risks and agree that their ships after visiting the Crimea will not go to the ports of the European Union or the United States for some time.
Shipping grain to Syria is across the port of Feodosia, and across the port of Kerch to Lebanon, ferrous scrap from Kerch is delivered to the ports of Albania. It should be noted that the latter has joined the European sanctions against Crimea. The Albanian Embassy denied the information about the presence of sea communication between the ports of the country and the Crimea.
The probability that AfD will be able to "push" its initiative in the European Parliament this year is higher than ever: according to forecasts, following the elections, right-wing and nationalist movements can get a record number of seats.
