Pieces from the archive of the Imperial family from the funds of the state Museum-reserve "Tsarskoye Selo" will be exhibited in the Massandra Palace for the first time. Exhibition "Emperor Alexander III. Coronation. Journey. Family" will open on April 19th with the support of the Ministry of culture of Crimea.
For the first time thanks to the fruitful cooperation of State budgetary institution of the Republic of Crimea "Alupka Palace and Park Museum-reserve" and the State Museum-reserve "Tsarskoye Selo", the exquisite interiors of the Massandra Palace-Museum will feature the priceless pieces of the Imperial archive.
According to the representative of "Alupka Palace and Park Museum-reserve" Olga Skrypnik, visitors will see rare watercolors, engravings, lithographs, Danish porcelain, uniforms, books and numerous photos and documents. These items are witnesses of the most significant events in the life of the Emperor: the coronation in the Kremlin and his trips to the Caucasus and Denmark.
Ms. Skrypnyk noted that the exhibition was organized not incidentally in the Massandra Palace — this year marks the 125th anniversary of the death of the king, who chose this place as his Crimean residence.
The opening will take place during the V Yalta International Economic Forum from 18th to 20th of April 2019.
